Paper Making Workshops

Paper making workshops are available from May through September. The workshop is held outside on the bindery's deck, so the class is weather dependent as we will want nice warm weather.

We will use traditional paper making materials and tools, to a quick blender version that is great for the class room and at home. You will pull your own sheets of paper in various sizes and thicknesses. If you have a specific use for your new papers please let me know before you register for a class.

Japanese Paper Workshop is a two-day workshop. The first day will be prepping the fibers for making the papers, and the second day will be pulling sheets.

All the handmade papers will need to dry overnight, before you will be able to take them home.

Basket Making Workshops with handmade papers fibers are a multiple day workshop. You will need to build an armature of some structure and sew on cheesecloth to catch the fibers. Then you will need to make the paper pulp, and pour the fibers through the cloth. These will need to dry before removing the cheesecloth. Please contact me directly if you are interested in making baskets with handmade papers.

Class Size: limited to a maximum of 5 participants.

Current Workshops: by appointment.

Level: Beginner to experienced.

Age Recommendation: Five-years old through adult. (An adult must take the workshop with anyone under 12 years of age.)
